Portraits

Art and Asanas

I’m always trying to find inspiration in my everyday life, so what better way to get my daily dose than to spend a Sunday morning shooting yoga portraits in the artsy neighborhood of Wynwood?  A perfect combination of two of my favorite things: art and yoga. Both have significant meaning to me and play similar roles in my life: they are extremely therapeutic, they encourage learning through doing, and both are an expression and extension of who I am.

Thanks to my amazing yoga teacher, Carlos Tao for his willingness to open up and give so much of himself for this session.  Carlos always reminds his students to embrace each moment without thinking or worrying too much about it. He’s an amazing teacher who encourages us to go beyond our self-imposed limitations. These reminders become daily intentions that extend beyond the mat. Don’t take things so seriously and have some fun. Just play. And as you can see from the images below, he did just that.
